Our Statement of Faith

We believe that the Bible (Old and New Testament) is God’s Word (not man’s), that it is without error in its original form, and that it is the only reliable guide for the faith and life of the believer (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

We believe that God is the Creator of all life, that He is sovereign in authority over His creation and that He eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Gen. 1:1-3; Psalm 90:2).

We believe that Jesus Christ was fully God and fully man, that He was born of the virgin Mary, that His miracles were real and authentic, that His death on the cross was the perfect and proper atonement for our sin, that His resurrection was physical and actual, and that He ascended bodily into heaven to take His place at the right hand of the Father in continual intercession for those who believe in Him, that He will visibly return for His Bride (the Church), and that He will reign literally and bodily as eternal King in fulfillment of the Scriptures (Matthew 1:18; John 1:1; I Peter 3:18; Hebrews 7:25; Matthew 26:64; I Thessalonians 4:13-18).

We believe that the Holy Spirit is our source of strength to accomplish God’s will, to understand His holy Scripture, and to serve the Body of Christ.  He dwells within every believer, empowering and enabling them to live the Christian life.  He gives to each believer a spiritual gift(s) that is(are) meant to be used for the edification of the Body (Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 12:1-12).

We believe that there is no other way to obtain salvation and to be assured of a right relationship with God than through Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for our sin (John 14:6; I Peter 3:18).

We believe that every person who puts their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation from the penalty of sin is immediately transferred into the Kingdom of God and is a member of the Universal Body of Christ (Colossians 1:10; Ephesians 4:4-6).

We believe that the local church is the place where those who are saved are encouraged and instructed in their faith, challenged to live godly and obedient lives, and are given opportunity to serve God with their gifts and abilities (Ephesians 1:1-2; I Corinthians 1:2).

We believe that Jesus commanded his followers to observe two ordinances, baptism and communion (Matthew 26:26-29; I Corinthians 11:23-26; Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 6:3-4).

We are a non-denominational congregation, and we believe in being biblically sound in all that we do.  We encourage the development, strengthening, and utilization of individual spiritual gifts, but do not emphasize the manifestation of certain gifts above others.
